Superior Craftsmanship & Durability
Superior Craftsmanship & Durability
This lighthouse is made of nine-ply birch. It is sturdy, durable, simple in its design, and beautifully handcrafted by Amish woodworkers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Each lighthouse is painted to resemble the original lighthouse it replicates.
Weather Resistant - Made for the Outdoors
Our lighthouses are made to be outdoors. They are crafted with weather-resistant plywood and carefully painted with weather-resistant paint to withstand rain, hot sun, or snow. The lighthouses are bottom-heavy and rarely are blown over even without anchors. For peace of mind, they can easily be anchored through the lip of the base so that they remain secure in the yard, on a dock, or virtually any other surface. Of course, all wood eventually rots when exposed to the elements. To extend the life of your lighthouse through the decades, we recommend that it is place in an area of some shade or protection. Even in the open elements, however, your lighthouse should last 5-7 years at a minimum before it starts to show signs of age.
Removable Top
The lighthouse top easily slides on and off the base for easy access to the lighting system. For more information on the lights, read the section by that name.
Attention to Detail
Each lighthouse is constructed with an octagon base that is trimmed with corner covers, replica window and door frames and a handsomely painted color scheme to resemble the original lighthouse it is modeled after.
Small weather-resistant chains decorate the top of the lighthouse. Plexiglass adds a decorative touch to the top of the lighthouse and allows the lighthouse to function as the light shines through.
Made in America, Made by the Amish
Our lighthouses are handcrafted in the USA by Amish woodworkers.

Light Options
Selecting the right light for your lighthouse is perhaps your most important decision in your purchase. The right light for you depends on how you will use the lighthouse, its proximity to others, the source of power, and your personal preference.
This lighthouse comes with various light options. Please note that the options are not easily interchanged. If you’re looking for both a rotating light and a flashing light, the easiest solution is to purchase two tops for your lighthouse.
Please note that all lights are low wattage (usually about 25 watts or less), as they are meant to serve as accent lights. Your lighthouse will not light up an entire yard, but will accent it beautifully.
Except for the solar light, all lights operate by plugging a cord into a standard AC/DC outlet, just as you would for any lamp. Unfortunately, we do not sell timers or remote controls for our wooden outdoor lighthouses. We recommend that you purchase a timer through your local hardware store and consult an electrician for more complex wiring.
Revolving Light is not available on 2 ft lighthouses.
Light options are as follows:
Standard Light
All lighthouses come with a standard light at no extra charge. When the lighthouse is plugged in, the light is on. The primary benefit of this light is that there is no extra charge. It is the best option for a lighthouse that will be in close proximity to living areas (to minimize distraction).
Flashing Light
The flashing light is simply a standard light with a controlled pulse of electric current. The effect is a slight dimming on and off a soft and gentle flash, giving your lighthouse a touch of authenticity.
Solar Light
The solar light allows you to set your lighthouse virtually anywhere in the sun - no need for wires at all - which will save you from tearing up your yard or paying for expensive installation of electricity for remote places. Next to our standard light, the solar light is our most popular light option.
The solar light also saves money over the long run because it does not add to your electric bill. It’s the most ecological friendly solution.
The solar collectors will gather sunlight during the day and the light will shine at night. This light requires access to the sun. It is slightly dimmer than our other lights. It’s a great idea for a dock!
Please note that the point of the lighthouse is lost with the solar light option (see picture of options for detail). This loss of aesthetic effect steers some people away from this option.
Strobe Light
This lighthouse comes with an optional strobe light. The strobe light is a light that flashes on and off very sharply, similar to the light on the back of a forklift. Its effect is mediated by the glass windows that enclose the top of the lighthouse, and the effect is an authentic flashing that is similar to many real lighthouses. The strobe light is a terrific option for a remote area of the yard, as long as power is available.
Revolving Light
The revolving light is a very popular option for those who want to most accurately simulate the effect of many real lighthouses. It is not the most economical choice. The revolving light operates by a small motor and system of mirrors to give it a beacon effect. It is a wonderful choice if you’re looking for an authentic replication of a lighthouse and are placing your lighthouse in a remote area where power is available. We don’t recommend the revolving light next to a neighbor’s window or on the side of the street, but we’ve never heard any reports of complaints from customers who have chosen this option.
Revolving Light is not available on 2 ft lighthouses.

Ideas for Use
Covering Obstructions
Do you need to cover a Well Head or Sewer Pipe? This wooden outdoor lighthouse is an attractive solution to covering an unsightly obstruction in your yard. The lighthouse is hollow on the inside and can set over many kinds of objects. The dimensions here should help you determine what size lighthouse to purchase to cover the object in your yard. The dimensions of the lighthouse are listed in the Quick Specs area. Please call us at 866-272-6773 if you need assistance.
Docks
Our lighthouses are very popular in marinas and at private docks. If your dock does not have electricity, consider a solar light for your lighthouse and put it at the end of the dock as a navigational aide and nautical decoration.
Business Landmark
Many businesses buy our lighthouses as landmarks. Seafood restaurants, boatyards, insurance companies, churches, and many other businesses used the lighthouse to remind their customers of their mission or simply as a visible landmark both day and night.
Lawn, Garden, or Patio
The most popular use of our lighthouses, however, is simply as nautical decor for the home. Imagine one of these Amish lighthouses sitting on your lawn, garden, or patio. The accent lights will generate a warm feeling on your property in the evening.

Amish Handcrafted Lighthouses
Amish Handcrafted - an American Tradition
Amish handcrafted products are well-known for their high quality, traditional designs and authentic craftsmanship. The Amish make a wide variety of furniture and crafts using handheld tools and working out of small woodshops beside their rural homes. They are a unique cultural group that avoids computers, cell phones, cars and electricity even in this high tech age. Their products are painstakingly made by hand, one piece at a time. Each piece is individually crafted and inspected.
While many American manufacturers lose way to foreign imports, the Amish are thriving in the furniture and crafts business in places like Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Holmes County, Ohio; and Shipshewana, Indiana. They’ve earned a well-deserved reputation for quality and value, practicing their art in many places where American furniture and crafts have been made for generations and helping to support those local economies.
While the Amish in general have earned a reputation for high quality work, there are of course exceptions. Our staff carefully selects woodworkers and craftsmen whose commitment to quality matches our customer's expectations.
In general, the Amish are an inward focused people that reflect many generations of technological isolation from the rest of the world. For that reason, they tend to focus on manufacturing rather than selling. With any high quality product, this is where the focus should be!
Popular Amish made crafts include outdoor lighthouses, wishing wells, and a variety of other lawn decor. The Amish also make many popular crafts, including the immensely popular Amish quilts. Amish furniture includes indoor furniture and outdoor furniture.

Carefully Shipped
Please allow 1 to 3 weeks for delivery.
Lighthouses that are 5' and smaller are generally shipped via UPS. Lighthouses larger than 5' must be crated and shipped via freight.
For most lighthouses, the top is secured inside the base during shipping. When you receive your lighthouse, be sure to inspect it to make sure that it has arrived without damage. Our rate of damage is very low, but in the event that damage does occur, documentation always helps. After inspecting your lighthouse, remove the top from inside the base and simply place it on top of the base where it belongs.
Your lighthouse will now be ready for use ... enjoy!
